question about pc case m4 and m3 screws

hey, almost always m3. i've built a bunch of PCs and literally never seen m4 standoffs for the motherboard itself. sometimes m4 is for other things in the case, like drive cages or expansion cards, but for the mobo it's m3. you should be good with those.

Totally agree with Tonnyjaction here, M3 is definitely the move for motherboard standoffs. Tbh, I've never even encountered M4 for that specifically in any build I've done. Usually M4 screws are for other random case bits like PSU mounts or drive cages. If you're still not sure and don't wanna risk it, most case manuals (if you can find it online!) list the screw types. Or just grab a few from your case's included hardware bag and see what fits the standoff, usually pretty obvious. Good luck with the build!
