network protocol error minecraft bedrock

trying to play crossplay on a bedrock server and getting a network protocol error. is this a version mismatch?

yeah usually that's exactly what it means tbh. i've had that happen a bunch trying to crossplay on bedrock after updates. someone's version is off, either your game or the server. double check for updates or ask the server owner if they're on the latest. hope that helps!
