I want to use Discord on my Xbox to chat with my friends while gaming, but I don't know how to set it up. Is there an official Discord app for Xbox, or do I have to link my account in some way? Could anyone tell me step by step how to get Discord on Xbox and whether the voice chat feature works well?

To get Discord on Xbox, link your Discord account in Xbox Settings → Account → Linked social accounts, then join voice chats from Discord mobile or PC and transfer them to your Xbox.
