I need help figuring out the best way to end an email. I’m looking for suggestions on appropriate closing lines depending on tone or situation.

You can end an email with a polite closing like “Best regards,” “Kind regards,” “Sincerely,” or “Thank you,” followed by your name.

It really depends on the vibe, use “Best regards” or “Sincerely” for formal emails, “Thanks” or “Kind regards” for professional-friendly ones, and “Cheers” or “Talk soon” when it’s casual.

It is a good idea to use a fitting closing to end an email, depending on the relationship between the sender and the receiver:

  • Professional: "Best regards," or "Kindly, sincerely,
  • Friendly: "Best," or "Cheers,"
  • Stating the Case: "Thanks in advance,"
Always conclude with your name and with your professional signature.

To end an email effectively, choose a closing that matches your tone and relationship. Professional emails work well with closings like Kind regards, Sincerely, or Best regards. Casual emails can use Thanks, Best, or Take care. Always follow with your name and, if needed, your title or contact details for clarity and professionalism.

To end an email effectively:
  1. Professional: Use "Best regards," "Kind regards," or "Sincerely" (for formal/job apps).
  2. Casual: Use "Best," "Cheers," or "Talk soon."
  3. Gratitude: Use "Many thanks" or "Thank you for your time."
Always add a comma after your sign-off and include your name/signature.

End an email with a polite closing like “Sincerely,” “Best regards,” or “Thank you,” followed by your name. Match the tone to how formal or casual the email is.

Sign an email with a pleasant signing and your name. Ordinary closing phrases consist in: Best regards, Sincerely, Thank you, Kind regards, Warm regards, or Thanks.

Close off the professional signature on a high level such as best regards or sincerely to formal reach-outs. With informal colleagues, it is good with the help of "Thanks" or the word best. Never leave out a strong call to action or your contact details so as to have a professional yet helpful closing.
