xbox 360 games re-compiled for pc

hey! nah, it's not really native ports in the way you might be thinking. microsoft has official backwards compatibility for a ton of 360 games on series x/s, but it's done through their own emulator layer. so while it's official and works great on console, it's technically still emulation. xenia is a totally separate, unofficial pc emulator project. both are emulators but one's official console support and the other is fan-made pc stuff. makes sense?

ah okay thanks for clarifying

It's not really native ports, what you're thinking of is Microsoft's official backwards compatibility on Series X/S which still runs through an emulator layer, and Xenia is a completely separate fan-made thing for PC, so yeah both are technically emulation just different kinds.

Most Xbox 360 games cannot simply be “re-compiled” for PC because they were built for different hardware and system architecture. Developers usually need to port or remaster the game by adapting code, controls, graphics, and APIs for Windows. Some titles later received official PC releases, while fans use emulators like Xenia to run certain Xbox 360 games on computers.
