I just heard that WhatsApp is finally coming to the Apple Watch after years of waiting! Has anyone tried it yet or knows what features will be available on the watch?

WhatsApp is finally launching on the Apple Watch, letting users read and reply to messages, view notifications, and use voice replies directly from their wrist—no phone needed for basic functions.

Yes the WhatsApp companion app for the Apple Watch is finally arriving after years of wait.

Highlights:
  • You’ll be able to read chats, reply by voice or text, send emoji/reactions and view media right from your wrist.
  • It’s currently rolling out in beta form, so full public release timing may vary.
  • The watch app still depends on a paired iPhone — it’s not yet fully standalone.

If you like, I can check the minimum watchOS/iOS version required for your region.

WhatsApp also currently features a native app available for devices such as the Apple Watch. This enables functionalities such as reading messages, replying to messages, sending voice messages, emoji reactions, and notifications of calls. It runs on watchOS 10+. It is compatible with the Apple Watch Series 4+.

The most recent WhatsApp news on Apple Watch is as follows:
WhatsApp has just made the much-longed-awaited Apple Watch app official after years of user requests. The new watchOS companion allows you to respond to and read entire messages, send voice notes, receive calls, get call notifications, react with emojis, see pictures, and chat history on your wrist without unfolding your iPhone. This is a significant growth of WhatsApp on wearables and it brings parity of features near to that enjoyed by Android smartwatch users.

Yeah, it’s finally happening! On the Apple Watch you’ll be able to read and reply to messages, see notifications, and maybe send quick voice replies via WhatsApp , I haven’t tried it yet, but I’m honestly excited to text straight from my wrist!
