What Is Data Roaming?

Can anyone explain what data roaming is? I’ve heard it can lead to extra charges when traveling, but I’m not totally clear on how it works. How do I avoid unexpected fees, and do I need to turn it off when I’m abroad?

In case you have bought a global data plan or bought a domestic eSIM to your destination location, data roaming must be activated on the respective travel eSIM/plan.
