"I'm stuck on today's Connections too. I think the answer has something to do with a famous author's work. I'm going to take a wild guess and say it's connected to Edgar Allan Poe and 'The Raven.' Am I even close?"

Ngl, Poe and 'The Raven' feels a bit too specific for a Connections purple category, imo. They usually go for something more abstract or tricky. I always try to think if the words can all be followed by the *same* other word, or if they're all homophones of something. This one definitely had me scratching my head for a bit! Hope that helps a little without giving too much away.
Purple is always the trickiest one, try thinking whether all the words can follow or precede the same word, or if they're all weirdly specific versions of one broader concept, that's usually the trick the NYT uses for that category.
