My iPhone screen is completely non-responsive to touch, hence I cannot unlock the phone or use any applications. The screen does light up; however, when I tap or swipe, the touchscreen simply does not respond. I am uncertain whether this is a software fault or a hardware problem. Is there anyone who has come across the issue of the iPhone screen not responding to touch? How can I resolve the problem while keeping my data intact?

If your iPhone screen isn’t responding:
  • Force restart your iPhone
  • Clean the screen and remove any screen protector
  • Disconnect accessories
  • Update iOS (if possible)
  • If it still won’t respond, it may be a hardware issue and needs repair.

If your iPhone screen isn’t responding to touch, try these quick fixes:

  1. Restart your iPhone – hold the power button and slide to power off, then turn it back on.
  2. Clean the screen – remove dirt, oil, or moisture.
  3. Remove screen protector – sometimes it blocks touch sensitivity.
  4. Force restart – for iPhone X and later, press Volume Up → Volume Down → hold Side button.
  5. Update iOS – go to Settings → General → Software Update.

If it persists, contact Apple Support.

If your iPhone screen is not responding to touch, first force restart it (press and quickly release Volume Up, then Volume Down, then hold the Side button until the Apple logo appears). Remove any screen protector or case that may interfere with touch sensitivity and clean the screen gently. Make sure your iPhone is updated to the latest iOS version. If the issue continues, reset settings (Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset All Settings). If none of these work, it could be a hardware issue, and you may need to contact Apple Support or visit an authorized service center.

If your iPhone screen isn’t responding, force restart the device, clean and dry the screen, and remove any screen protector or case. Make sure iOS is updated. If the issue continues, reset settings or contact Apple Support, as it could be a hardware problem requiring professional repair.
