How To Undo A Deleted Whatsapp Contact?

You can recover a deleted WhatsApp contact by reinstalling WhatsApp and restoring a backup, as removing a contact just removes it from your phone's address book, not the chat history. To restore your chats and contacts, delete WhatsApp, reinstall it, and follow the on-screen instructions to restore from a Google Drive or iCloud backup.

If you deleted a WhatsApp contact, you can get it back by restoring it from your phone contacts, since WhatsApp pulls numbers from there.
  • If it’s on Google Contacts or iCloud, check the trash/bin or restore option.
  • After restoring, reopen WhatsApp and refresh contacts (new chat → three dots → refresh).
If it wasn’t backed up anywhere, sadly, it can’t be recovered.

  • Restore Phone Contacts: Since WhatsApp uses your phone's address book, restoring a deleted contact from your phone's contact app/recycle bin will bring it back to WhatsApp.
  • Use Cloud Backup: If you sync contacts to Google Contacts or iCloud, log into that service and use the "Undo Changes" or Restore Contacts feature to revert to an earlier state.
  • Reinstall WhatsApp: (Use as a last resort) Uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp, then select Restore when prompted to retrieve chats and contacts from your last Google Drive/iCloud chat backup.

You can’t directly undo a deleted WhatsApp contact, but you can restore it by:
  • Re-adding the contact to your phone’s address book
  • Opening WhatsApp and tapping Refresh contacts
  • Restoring from a backup (Google Drive/iCloud) made before deletion
Once the number is back in your contacts, it will reappear in WhatsApp.

You can usually restore deleted contacts if your phone has synced with Google or iCloud. Just check your contacts backup and re-add the person. Once added, WhatsApp should automatically show them again.
