How To Spoiler Text On Discord?

I want to send a message to someone on Discord, but without the content being revealed immediately. I have read about people hiding their messages using spoiler texts, but I am not sure how to do it by myself. How do you do a spoiler text on Discord with proper formatting? Does it work on both desktop and mobile? A clear, simple explanation of hiding text as a spoiler on Discord would be great.

Just put two vertical bars on both sides of your message like ||this text|| and Discord will hide it as a spoiler. It works the same on desktop and mobile, so I use it all the time when I don’t want to reveal something right away.

To add spoiler text on Discord, type your message with double vertical bars: ||spoiler text||. When sent, it appears hidden until clicked. You can also highlight text, right-click, and choose Mark as Spoiler. This hides sensitive or surprise content.

To add spoiler text on Discord, place two vertical bars before and after the message. Example: ||spoiler text||. When sent, the text appears hidden with a gray overlay, and other users must click or tap it to reveal the content.
