how to see who shared your instagram post?

trying to see who put my post on their story but insights are blank. is there a way to actually track this now?

I've had the same issue with Instagram insights being blank when trying to see who shared my post on their story. It's pretty frustrating, but I've found that if you have a business or creator account, you should be able to see the story shares in your insights, but sometimes it just doesn't work. On Instagram, you can’t see exactly who shared your post. You can only view the total number of shares through post insights (if you have a professional account), but the app does not reveal the names or profiles of users who shared it in DMs or stories.

One is not able to view those users who shared their Instagram posts as the app provides no such feature. All that one can know is how many times the post was shared using Insights feature on Instagram (business/creator). However, reshares made on stories can be viewed provided that the account is public and the user was tagged.

Open Instagram and go to your post. Tap “View Insights” (business/creator accounts only). Check “Shares” under interactions to see how many times it was shared—but Instagram doesn’t reveal who specifically shared your post.

nah man, it's super annoying but if they didn't tag you, you usually can't see who shared it directly from insights. i've had this happen so many times too. the only way i've ever found out is if someone else saw it and told me, or if they actually tagged me. it sucks they removed that direct visibility, makes it impossible to track sometimes.
