I need some advice on how to report blackmail on Snapchat. If anyone knows the proper steps or has experience with this, could you please share how to report it effectively? I’m looking for guidance on how to contact Snapchat’s support and ensure the issue is handled quickly and safely. Any tips on how to protect my account and personal information during this process would also be really appreciated.

Reporting blackmail on Snapchat is as follows:
  • Save the Evidence: To preserve all the threats, messages, and profiles, save them in the form of screenshots or screen recording.
  • Report the User in Snapchat: Press and hold on the message in the chat and tap Report. It is also possible to report directly on their profile.
  • Block the Person: This will avoid further contact.
  • Reporting to Snapchat Support: Reporting can be done with the in-app reporting features to the safety team of Snapchat.
  • Report to the Law Enforcement: Blackmail and extortion are offenses. Inform your local police/ cybercrime unit about the situation.
  • Get Legal or Emotional Help: In case the threats are severe, you may need to talk to a lawyer or a person you trust.

On Snapchat, you can report blackmail by going to the person's chat, tapping their profile icon, clicking "Report," and then selecting "They're harassing me" or "Threatening/blackmailing me." Block the user after reporting, and use screenshots as proof. For safety, get in touch with your local authorities if the threats are severe.

If someone is blackmailing you on Snapchat, take screenshots for evidence and immediately block the person. Go to the chat, press and hold the message, and choose Report, then select “Safety Concern → Threats/Harassment/Blackmail.” You can also submit a report through Snapchat Support by searching “Report a Safety Issue” on their help page. Make sure to enable two-factor authentication, change your password, and never share any personal info or pay the blackmailer—Snapchat will review the case and take action once you report it.

  • Take screenshots of all threatening messages and demands as proof.
  • On Snapchat, press and hold the chat or profile, then tap Report → choose “Harassment / Threats” or similar.
  • Block the user to stop further contact.
  • Report the blackmailer to law enforcement with your saved evidence.
  • Use Snapchat’s Safety Center or support site to submit more details if needed.

To report blackmail on Snapchat, go to the chat, press and hold the message or snap being used for blackmail, and tap “Report”. Choose the option that best describes the issue—such as harassment or threats. You can also report directly through Snapchat Support on their website. If the situation feels dangerous, contact local authorities immediately.

To report blackmail on Snapchat, open the chat with the person, tap their profile icon → three dots → Report, and choose “They’re harassing me or threatening me.” You can also report through Settings → Support → Report a Safety Concern. Save evidence (screenshots) before reporting and block the user. If the threat is serious, contact local authorities.

In Snapchat, when someone is blackmailing (intending to share on the account unless action is taken) what follows is to go to the chat or profile, tap the menu (⋮ or gear icon), and then in the list of options, select Report and a choice of Blackmail or Harassment/Threats. Screen shocking evidence and reporting to the law enforcers should be considered as well when it gets serious.
