how to release emails from outlook quarantine?

a client sent an important attachment and defender threw it in quarantine. how do i manually release it as an admin?

ugh this is so annoying when it happens. i've had to do this a bunch of times myself.

you basically open Windows Security (you can just search for it), then go to 'Virus & threat protection'. scroll down a bit and click on 'Protection history'.

it should show the quarantined item there. just select it, and you'll get an option to 'Restore'. you def need admin access to do it, just fyi.
