How To Delete Labels in Gmail?

I need help understanding how to delete labels in Gmail. What are the steps to remove a label, and are there any things I should be aware of before deleting one?
 
To remove labels in Gmail, open the settings gear, switch to the See all settings category and then to the Labels section and scroll until you reach your label and press the remove button. Instead, it is possible to hover the cursor over a label in the sidebar, and then, by clicking three dots.
 
In Gmail, you can delete labels by clicking on the sidebar on the left and the object or item that you want to be deleted. Tap the three vertical dots (More) and tap on the option of Remove label. Alternatively, visit the setting button and then the see all settings button and in the setting, select the labels tab. At this point, any label can be deleted or managed. Deleting a label will not mark out the emails within it.
 
To delete a label on the Gmail side bar, point the cursor over the label name in the left hand sidebar and click on the three dots (More icon). Choose the option of removing label off the menu and verify the removal. Alternatively, you will be able to handle all labels in the "Settings" menu under the tab "Labels" although, the emails are not deleted, just that the particular organization tag is lost.

Optionally, you can go to Settings (gear icon) > See all settings > Labels, locate your label, and click remove.
