how to delete characters in character ai

i made a bunch of broken test bots. how do i wipe them from my public profile?

To delete a character you created in Character.AI, go to your Profile and select the character. Open the Character Settings (gear icon), scroll to the bottom, and click Delete Character. Note that this action is permanent and will remove the character from your public profile and search.

yeah this is the way to do it for sure. i had to delete a few of my own broken ones last week and these steps worked perfectly. thanks for the clear instructions jenniferjohnson!

You can delete characters from your public profile in Character AI by going to the characters tab and selecting the three dots next to the character you want to remove, then clicking delete, this will remove the character from your profile and it won't be visible to others anymore, also make sure to check if you have any conversations or favorites associated with those characters as deleting them might affect those as well, it's a good idea to double-check before deleting to avoid losing any important data or history.

Open your chat in Character AI, tap the message you want to edit or remove, then select delete or use the edit option if available. If deletion isn’t supported, clear the conversation or start a new chat to remove unwanted characters.
