how to deal with haters online

Be levelheaded, never get involved emotionally, and not feeding negativity. Block or mute when necessary, concentrate on positive feedback, and take care of your well-being more than negative comments on the internet.

yeah brylee's got some really good points there. it's honestly so tough sometimes, especially when you actually care about what you're posting. for me, what helps a lot is kinda reframing it. i try to think that whatever negativity they're putting out, it usually says more about *them* than it does about my content. like, maybe they're just having a bad day, or they're projecting their own issues. when i look at it that way, it kinda takes the sting out of it and makes it easier to just scroll past. oh, and seriously, turning off notifications for a thread that's getting toxic? total game changer. out of sight, out of mind.

Dealing with haters online starts with not taking negative comments personally. Stay calm and avoid engaging in arguments. Use block or mute features on platforms like Instagram to limit exposure. Focus on positive feedback and supportive people. If harassment continues, report the user. Protect your mental well-being by setting boundaries and spending less time on toxic interactions.

Honestly, the best way I’ve handled online haters is by not giving them the reaction they want, most of them are just looking for attention, so ignoring or muting/blocking works way better than arguing; if it’s constructive criticism I’ll take something useful from it, but if it’s just negativity, I don’t waste energy on it and focus on people who actually support or add value.
