how to create a website

I've been trying to create my own website for a while now and the article linked in this thread was really helpful, I was able to get my site up and running in a matter of hours the tips on choosing a domain and web hosting were particularly useful, I've been trying to learn more about SEO and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good SEO tools or resources they've used in the past.

To create a website, follow these steps: 1. Choose a domain name and register it through a registrar like GoDaddy or Namecheap. 2. Select a web hosting service like Bluehost or SiteGround. 3. Install a Content Management System (CMS) like WordPress or Wix. 4. Design and customize your site with a template or coding skills. 5. Launch your website and start publishing content.

hey oliver! yeah, wix or wordpress are good for beginners like people said. but for a portfolio specifically, you should def look at squarespace too.

it's super intuitive, like drag and drop, and their templates are really clean and modern right out of the box. makes your work look pro without a ton of effort. i used it for my photography portfolio and loved it. way easier than messing with plugins and stuff you get with wordpress sometimes. plus it's kinda built for visual stuff.

To create a website, use a builder like Wix or WordPress, get a domain and hosting (e.g., GoDaddy), choose a template, add your content, and click publish. It’s the easiest way for beginners to go live quickly.
