How Do You Know If Someone Blocked You on Whatsapp?

I’m looking for advice on how to tell if someone has blocked me on WhatsApp. I’d like tips or signs to look for that can help me confirm it.

These symptoms consist of no changes in profile photographs, messages that refuse to leave one check mark, a failure to see the last seen/status, and unsuccessful calls.

These symptoms include the inability to see the last seen or status, unsuccessful calls, messages that won't leave a single tick mark, and no changes to profile photos.

We can tell if someone blocked you on WhatsApp by noticing several signs: their profile picture and status no longer update, messages show only one check mark, calls don’t go through, and you can’t see their last seen or online status. These indicate you may be blocked.

You won't get a formal notification, but look for these signs:
  • Status/Profile: You can't see their "Last Seen" or profile picture updates.
  • Messages: Sent messages stay at one gray checkmark (never turning double-blue).
  • Calls: WhatsApp calls will not connect.

To know if you're blocked on WhatsApp, look for these indicators:
  1. Checkmarks: Messages show only one gray check (sent), never two.
  2. Profile: The user's profile picture and "Last Seen" status disappear.
  3. Calls: Voice or video calls will not connect.

You may be blocked on WhatsApp if you can’t see their last seen or online status, profile photo doesn’t update, messages show only one tick, and calls don’t go through but none of these signs alone confirm it for sure.

You might be blocked on WhatsApp if you no longer see the person’s profile photo, last seen, or online status, messages show only one tick, and calls don’t connect. However, privacy settings can cause similar signs.

Usually, the "single tick" combined with no profile picture is the biggest giveaway. If it stays like that for more than 24 hours, you’re likely blocked.
