can safeassign detect ai

tbh i've heard mixed things. a lot of those ai detectors, including safeassign's underlying tech, aren't perfect. sometimes it flags genuinely human writing, sometimes it misses obvious ai. i'd say if you just paste raw chatgpt, it's pretty risky. but if you rephrase and edit it yourself, it's much harder for it to detect. it's less about 'chatgpt' specifically and more about patterns in the text.

that makes a lot of sense thanks

Not really, it wasn't designed for that, it compares text against existing sources so AI-generated content that doesn't match anything online would likely slip right through.

SafeAssign cannot reliably detect AI-generated content. It checks similarity against sources for plagiarism, not authorship. AI-written text often passes if original, unless flagged by separate AI-detection tools.
