Can I Livestream with 8GB RAM Using OBS?

I want to start streaming live with OBS, but my computer only has 8GB of RAM. I don't know if that's enough to stream without lag or dropped frames. Can you stream live with 8GB of RAM on OBS, especially for games? What settings should I use to keep things running smoothly?

You can livestream with OBS Studio and 8GB of RAM, but how well it works depends on the CPU, GPU, and resolution. To reduce lag and keep streaming smooth, use 720p or 1080p at moderate settings, close background apps, turn on hardware encoding (NVENC/AMD VCE), and lower the bitrate if necessary.

Yes, you can livestream with 8 GB RAM, but with limitations. Stream at 720p, 30fps, close background apps, and use hardware encoding (like Intel Quick Sync) instead of x264 to reduce CPU load.

Yeah, you can stream with 8GB on OBS Studio, but you’ll need to keep it light. I’d suggest streaming at 720p 30fps, lower your game settings a bit, and close background apps. I’ve done it before and it works fine as long as you don’t push ultra graphics 😊

Yes, you can livestream with 8GB RAM using OBS, but performance depends on your CPU, GPU, and stream settings. For smooth streaming, use lower resolutions like 720p, reduce bitrate, close background apps, and enable hardware encoding (NVENC or Quick Sync) if available. High-end games or 1080p streaming may cause lag or dropped frames.

Yes, you can livestream with 8GB RAM using OBS Studio, especially for 720p streaming at 30fps. Performance depends on your CPU, GPU, and background apps. Close unnecessary programs, use hardware encoding, and lower bitrate settings for smoother, lag-free streaming without crashes.

I had a similar experience with live streaming using OBS, I've managed to stream smoothly with 8GB of RAM on my laptop, but only when using a low-resolution stream and keeping the OBS settings as minimal as possible I also made sure to close unnecessary background applications to free up as much RAM as possible, this seemed to make a significant difference in maintaining a stable stream without any lag or crashes.

Hi there, you can definitely livestream with 8GB RAM using OBS (Open Broadcasting Software). However, the ideal RAM for smooth streaming is 16GB or more. If you're using a lower-end CPU, 8GB RAM might still work, but you might experience some lag or buffering issues during high-demand streams.
