are ai training jobs legit

hey man, tbh i've tried outlier before. payment is legit but the work can be super inconsistent. sometimes you get nothing for weeks, then a bunch of stuff. haven't tried datannotation myself but heard similar things about the inconsistency. it's not a full-time gig, more like side cash if you're lucky.

thanks for the info that's good to know

Some AI training jobs are legit, but a lot of listings out there are low-paying or even shady, so you have to be careful. Real ones usually come from known companies like data labeling firms (Appen, TELUS, Scale AI, etc.) and involve tasks like tagging images, reviewing AI responses, or transcribing data. From what I’ve seen, the legit ones are very clear about the work and payment, but they rarely pay high and can be inconsistent, while scams often ask for upfront fees or feel too good to be true.

Most of the AI training opportunities offered by reputable companies, such as Appen, TELUS, or Scale AI are legitimate and include data labeling or answer reviewing. Nevertheless, employment is not always consistent and well-paid. Watch out against frauds that require initial payments or guarantee unattainable profits; genuine sites will never request you to pay to work.
