Where to buy cheap domains in 2026 (.com, .io and more)

Starting a little side project and I want to grab a domain without getting absolutely fleeced on the renewal price (you know which big registrars I mean). Where are people buying cheap domains these days, especially .io and .com? I've seen Porkbun mentioned a lot - is it actually worth it?

Namecheap is honestly still your best bet for keeping those annual renewal prices super low. Cloudflare is also amazing if you just want to pay the exact wholesale price without any crazy markups!

If you're getting a "this site can't be reached" error, it's usually due to a connection issue or the site being down. First, try checking your internet connection to make sure it's stable, and then try reloading the page. If that doesn't work, you can also try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, as sometimes these can cause problems. Additionally, you can try checking if the site is down for everyone or just you by using a website status checker, this can give you an idea if the issue is on your end or the site's end.

For 2026 cheap domains, shop around for the best deals from domain registrars such as Namecheap, Porkbun, and Spaceship. Often they have competitive first year rates for .com, .io and other extensions. You should also compare renewal fees, WHOIS privacy and transfer fees before signing up, as they can differ quite a bit over time.
