I’m trying to find out when Instagram was first released. Can someone tell me the exact launch date or point me in the right direction?

Instagram made its official debut on October 6, 2010. The application launched as a photo-sharing service for iPhone users through the development of Kevin Systrom and Mike Krieger. The platform reached more than one million users during its first two months of operation. The application expanded to Android platforms during 2012 which led to its rapid growth into a major social media network.
