In comparison with today's "Narrow AI" or even human-level AGI, ASI would be millions of times more intelligent and would have a far greater capability for rapid self-improvement. Hence, it is often referred to as the "final invention" that humankind would ever need to make, as it has the capacity to solve problems that are considered impossible, like turning back the effects of climate change or stopping aging; however, if its objectives are not perfectly aligned with ours, it will also become a major existential risk.
