I'm trying to get a clear understanding of what a foundry is and what it does. I know it has something to do with metal casting or manufacturing, but I'm not sure about the full process or the different types. Can someone explain it or share insights into how foundries work and where they’re commonly used?

A foundry is a workshop or factory where metal is melted and poured into molds to create cast metal objects. It involves processes like melting, molding, and cooling to produce parts used in various industries such as automotive, construction, and machinery manufacturing.

A foundry is a facility where metal is melted and cast into shapes using molds. It plays a key role in manufacturing parts for industries like automotive, aerospace, and construction, producing components from materials such as iron, steel, aluminum, and bronze.

As for these manual-mouthed metal-melding operations (read: foundries), many folks just don't catch at the 1,200°F mark: it's in environments of between 600 and 1600 degrees all the time!
