Keep seeing headlines about this Medusa ransomware group and their phishing campaigns, and it's making me a bit twitchy about my own stuff. For a regular person - not a company - what are the realistic ways to protect yourself from this kind of thing? What actually matters versus what's just fear-mongering?

The best defense is just being super skeptical of email links and definitely turning on two factor authentication everywhere. Keeping a good offline backup of your important files is a total lifesaver too.
