hey, yeah for illustrator, the fastest way to auto trace a jpeg is definitely with the Image Trace panel. what i usually do is:

* select your jpeg
* then go to 'Window' > 'Image Trace'
* pick one of the presets from the dropdown (like 'black and white logo' or 'sketched art')
* and then click 'Expand' in the control panel or the Image Trace panel itself.

it usually gives a pretty decent starting point tbh. i do this a lot.
