How to Stop Whatsapp from Saving Photos?

I want to stop WhatsApp from automatically saving photos to my device and would appreciate some help or suggestions on how to change this setting.

In WhatsApp, go to Settings > Chats and toggle off Save to Camera Roll (iPhone) or Media Visibility (Android). To manage specific chats, tap the contact name, select Media Visibility, and choose "No" to stop automatic gallery saving.

To stop WhatsApp from saving photos, open WhatsApp, go to Settings → Chats, and toggle off Save to Camera Roll (iOS) or Media visibility (Android). This prevents new photos and videos from automatically saving to your gallery, while existing media remains unaffected. You can adjust per-chat settings as well.

No worries, just open WhatsApp Settings > Storage and Data and turn off Media auto-download (on iPhone, also disable Save to Gallery). I did this myself and my phone finally stopped filling up with random images

Want to prevent WhatsApp from saving pictures directly to your phone's gallery? Then take these steps:
  • For Android, open Settings > Chats and disable Media visibility by toggling the switch off.
  • For iPhone, open Settings > Chats and turn off Save to Camera Roll by toggling the switch.
If you want to stop pics from being downloaded even to the app, open Settings > Storage and Data and choose "No media" or "Never" for all the "Media auto, download" options (Mobile data, Wi, Fi, and Roaming).

To stop WhatsApp from saving photos automatically:

Android: Settings → Storage and Data → Media Auto-Download → disable options.
iPhone: Settings → Chats → turn off Save to Photos.
