I’m trying to understand if there are legitimate and privacy-respecting ways to view Snapchat Stories anonymously. Can someone explain what’s possible and what I should be careful about?

The Snapchat Stories cannot be viewed anonymously. Snapchat counts views on the server, thus tricks such as airplane mode cannot be used. The third-party anonymous viewers are unsafe and they usually steal data. The safest methods are either setting your own privacy or using a second account in an ethical manner but without impersonation or infringing the privacy of other people.

Because Snapchat Stories is designed to display the creator who viewed their story, it is not possible to fully view them anonymously in a guaranteed, legitimate way. Using Airplane Mode after the stories load and then reopening Snapchat is the only "safer" way, but it doesn't always work and can still record a view after you go online. Avoid third-party apps or websites that promise anonymous viewing as they typically breach Snapchat's terms, jeopardize your account, or collect data. The best course of action if privacy is a concern is to avoid viewing the story altogether.
