Acer laptop stuck on the loading or boot screen: how to fix

My Acer laptop just hangs on the loading screen and never actually boots into Windows. I've turned it off and on a bunch of times and it does the same thing every time. What are my options before I cave and pay someone to look at it? Really hoping this is a fixable-at-home situation.

If you're getting the "this site can't be reached" error, it's usually due to a connection issue or a problem with the website itself. First, try checking your internet connection to make sure it's stable, and then see if the site is down for everyone or just you by checking a site like isitdownrightnow. If the site is up, try clearing your browser's cache and cookies, and then reload the page. You could also try using a different browser or device to see if the issue is specific to one of them.

If your Acer laptop is stuck on the boot or loading screen, start by disconnecting all external devices and performing a hard restart. If that doesn’t help, try entering Safe Mode or using Startup Repair from the Windows recovery options. In my experience, corrupted system files or a failed Windows update are often the cause, so running a repair or restoring the system to an earlier point can usually fix the issue.

Restart the Acer laptop, unplug all USB devices, hold power for 15 seconds, boot again, enter BIOS, check boot order, try Safe Mode, Startup Repair, or System Restore.
