The green dot on Snapchat shows that someone is currently active and usually stays visible only while they’re online or recently active, disappearing shortly after they go offline.

Go to the Snapchat login screen, tap “Forgot your password?”, choose via Email or Phone, and follow the reset link/code to create a new password. It only takes a minute.
